I Finally Got My Hands on You

I have no signature scent. I'm the type of girl who tends to change my perfume every now and then. I usually buy the biggest bottle since it is cheaper but I hate having to bring it with me everyday. It tends to add weight and bulk to my bag. So when I saw the Travalo Refillable Atomizer, I immediately searched where I can find it here in the Philippines. Unfortunately, it is not available anywhere here. Good thing I saw this online seller at multiply, sylista.ph and got myself 2 of the Travalo classic.

One atomizer is good for 50 sprays. It's very small and can fit inside the smallest purse.
Travalo beside my MAC lippie
It was pricey at 500 PhP each but it saves you with the mess of having to transfer your perfume in a conventional atomizer. It takes me forever to do that and I tend to waste precious drops of my perfume. Instructions are written at the back of the plastic box.

So see this hole at the bottom of the bottle? You just have to connect it with that straw-like thingy that acts as the pump of your perfume bottle. It works on pressure so you don't have to worry about spillage after.

Then you just pump until your Travalo is filled.

After a minute, I now have Anna Sui Secret Wish and Lanvin Eclat d' Arpege in hassle-free and light atomizers. Coolness!

No more bulky bottles. Yey!

Somebody That I Used To Know

Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember

You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end
Always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over

But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
You didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
And I don't want to live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know

But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
You didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know

I used to know
That I used to know

Somebody . . .

Originally sung by Gotye and covered by this amazing one instrument band called Walk of the Earth. The lyrics felt too close too home: getting involved with someone who had hang ups from a previous relationship then being completely cut off. Doesn't make sense (I mean seriously, the cutting off part was supposedly something left for me to do. Tssss.) but we all have to deal with bullshit at some point.

Things will get better soon. And the next time, I hope and pray, I'll go find a guy whose brain is not in the same place as his balls.

Starbucks Coffee Passport

Nothing beats freshly brewed coffee in the morning. I swear I can't function without caffeine and Nescafe just always has to elevate the acidity of my stomach. Buying my own coffeemaker was one of the best decisions I've ever made, well probably next to giving up sodas when I was 12. Anyhoo, I ran out of coffee and I decided to try coffee beans from Starbucks. It's actually quite inexpensive at PHP 375 per bag and the nice thing about it is that they will grind your beans for you as well. I got myself one of the stronger ones, Caffe Verona.

I actually just found out about the Starbucks Coffee Passport. Every bag of coffee beans purchased gets you a stamp and when you complete ten, you get one bag free. Nice!

It will also educate you about the different types of coffee beans. I will probably get a Breakfast blend next time.
First stamp!
No more 3-in-1's for me! Yey! I intend to get my my free coffee beans.

Use Somebody

Today is Good Friday. Time to reflect and ponder about our lives. I took this time to think and pray for healing. As part of the process, I will take the time to sing more as an outlet. I leave you with my cover of the Kings of Leon hit, Use Somebody.

Beach Babe

I love the beach. Water is my element and that is where I am happiest. I decided to make a post on how to dress up your bikinis and other essentials necessary for a beach trip.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS bring sunscreen. I use Banana Boat for my body and VMV Armada for my face. VMV is for my everyday use actually. My face is very sensitive so I don't want to use the same lotion for my face and body.

A pair of sunglasses is your best friend. Aside from the fact that it protects your eyes from the glaring rays of the sun, it will also conceal those dark circles under your eyes since you will not be actually wearing make up to the beach will you?

Wear a hat. This will protect your hair and face from harmful UV rays.

Now let's go to the dressing up part. I made four looks for the beach using different types of cover ups.

1. I used a sheer dress with a paisley bandeau. Gives off glamorous vibes don't you think?
Dorothy Perkins bikini | Bayo cover up | Fly sunnies
From Boracay floppy hat | From Cebu necklace
2. This one is a more laid back look. I picture myself strolling around D' Mall in Boracay looking for a place to eat lunch or buying shakes from Jonah's.
Solo bikini set | Maldita shorts | Coco Cabana cover
From Cebu bangle | H&M sunnies | SM hat
3. This one is more for lounging on a boat or going for a dip in the water. Tamad lang ang peg. Haha.
Wet Shop bikini top | Kamiseta bikini bottom | American Eagle Outfitters cover
Fly sunnies | From Cebu necklace
4. The last one is actually my favorite. I love how comfy and playful my pants are. Plus this is my favorite pair of swim wear. :)

There goes my beach tips plus a glimpse of my bikini closet. I'll show you more when I'm not so lazy to take photos hehe. Have a fashionable summer! :)

I'm on the retail therapy streak and I'm currently drooling over bikinis since it's very timely. Summer is definitely here!!! I would love to have the following inside my closet:

Bikini from H&M
Bikini from Forever 21
Lucille by Naked Sun
Bellini by Soak Swimwear

Kimono cover up by Cocomo

Scented

I believe that every girl should have a signature scent, one whiff and you'll know that it's her around. I have always been partial to sweet and fruity scents. I've never liked florals because they remind me of altars. My favorites are DKNY Be Delicious, Moschino's I Love Love and Escada's Marine Groove. Since I noticed that my apothecary is nearing empty, I decided to head over to Cash and Carry to buy new bottles. Cash and Carry is a heaven for imported goods and other hard to find items. There are a lot of stores at the mezzanine level but I got my stash from Anselka's. This time I went for Lanvin Eclat D' Arpege and Anna Sui Secret Wish.

Secret Wish is a combination of melon, apricot, pineapple, blakcurrant and lemon. It reminds me of candies and fruits.

Eclat D' Arpege is one of the more popular scents. I know many who have this in their collections. I kind of did not pay attention to this one before but when I sprayed it on my wrist at the store. It's more of fruity-floral.

So why do I get testers? First they are less expensive than those meant for retail. Second, their scents are stronger (and sometimes) last longer than the boxed perfumes. I don't need a fancy box and cap anyway. Now my next project is to go look for this one:

I don't want to bring my perfume bottle everywhere. It's too bad that this is not available in the Philippines yet. I may have to ask someone from Singapore buy this for me. Please?
