Neons

Mon Petit Boudouir cover up and corset | Mango shorts | Dorothy Perkins belt
The Little Things She Needs wedges | Bazaar necklace

I wore this to the Ateneo Rockeoke last Saturday. I felt a little playful so I decided to pair a corset with  bright pink shorts. I came from school so I just stuffed it inside my bag because I can't come to school wearing this for obvious reasons. I used to be afraid of color but well, not anymore!

The party was a victory celebration of the 14th straight year that the Ateneo Graduate School of Business has been the champion of the Inter-graduate school sportsfest. Goodness 14 straight years! Who does that? My classmates came for the free food and the open bar. We are cheapskates like that. Haha.

I'm going to get some zzzs now. I'm flying to Singapore for a much needed break and to shop. Hihi. My long weekend starts now!

Wee Nam Kee at Ayala Triangle Gardens

I remember the hype that Wee Nam Kee created when it first opened here in Manila. It was almost always impossible to eat at the Ayala Triangle branch as you would always have to endure waiting before you get to be seated. I decided to bring my family there last Father's Day. We still were not seated upon arriving but at least we were first on the list. LOL.
Meet the Parents
Meet the sisters
I decided that it was best that we place our orders while waiting so that we get to eat immediately. Of course we had the signature chicken. I've always loved the Roasted Chicken (PhP 488 good for 3-4 pax) especially with lots of ginger and the signature sauce with chili.
Sauces and ginger!
Since my dad was diagnosed with high blood, we needed to get something low in cholesterol so we decided to have the Fish Fillet with Beancurd in Tausi (PhP 270). My family is a fan of brocolli and because we cannot decide which to get we had Brocolli in Garlic (PhP 230) and Beef with Brocolli in Oyster Sauce (PhP 275).

Wee Nam Kee also has this signature squid dish. The Honey Crisp Squid (PhP 230) is something new to me as I've only eaten squid in 3 forms: adobo, inihaw and calamares. It was good but a little sweet for my palate though.

Of course we do not eat all of these without rice. We tried the Wee Nam Kee Fried Rice (PhP 190) which was already a meal in itself. It said on the menu that it was good for 2-3 servings but we were able to extend it to four.

I was going to the restroom when I noticed the glass window where they hang their meat. You can also peek inside and watch how they prepare your food.

I've never had a bad experience at Wee Nam Kee. The price is also good and you are getting the value of your money. It's just funny that in Singapore, the original Wee Nam Kee is just a hole in the wall place while in the Philippines, it's somewhat fancier and considered a notch higher than your usual fastfood joint. The family is much, much satisfied and it sure was a happy Father's Day!

Volcano

I've been "tasked" to perform in one of our office events last Friday. I dragged my good friend Allan to play the guitar and sing with me. He asked if I could learn this song by Damien Rice which was revived by American Idol winner Phillip Phillips. With just an hour of practice, I think we managed to pull it off. What do you think? :) Happy Sunday everyone!

What I am to you is not real
What I am to you is not what you need
What I am to you is not what you mean to me
You give me miles and miles of mountains and I'll ask for the sea

Daddy Dearest

I haven't written anything lately because I was so busy with school and work that my mind just shuts down the moment I get home. I swear, I suffered a major writer's block that I can't seem to write anything witty, interesting let alone coherent. It was a good thing that I had this Sunday night off so that I can update this blog.

Anyway, today is Father's Day and since only my father drives in the family (I swear this would change the moment I find the time to practice again) I dragged my family somewhere far and went over to the Ayala Triangle Gardens. For those who do not know, my dad is an OFW. The total time that I've spent with him would just be equivalent to about 1/4 of my existence. Nevertheless, that did no strain my relationship with my father whatsoever. I'll always be a daddy's girl. Always.

I wore something laid back and a maxi dress was just perfect. If only we would not go to mass, I would have probably worn shorts actually.
Cococabana dress | Mango bag | Aldo flats | Forever 21 turquoise bracelet

Makati is still not over Independence Day. They have this huge Philippine flag at the center of the park. Very touristy don't you think? I actually saw three Koreans having their photos taken with the Security Guards. Lumelevel sa palace guards ng England? Walang basagan ng trip.

So all the calories I did not take for the week was scarfed down in four hours. Diet epic fail.
Fooooood
More foooooood
Banapple cakes. I die.
Happy Father's Day Papa!
